The main house deck spans the entire width of THE LOFT, and is a must as a dining location during your stay. Curl up in the afternoon sun on the chaise lounge or inside on one of the sofas next to the slow combustion wood fire. A TV with all the main channels, inc. ABC & SBS, as well as basic foxtel, is located in the lounge. The very well appointed kitchen is part of the open plan living/dining space. A gas barbeque is located on the deck overlooking the Hawkesbury River.
The spacious master bedroom, with airconditioning , also opens on to the main deck, with river views to the north east. Above the main level is the loft mezzanine with second bedroom - a double & a single - featuring majestic cathedral ceilings & breezeway louvre windows to each end.
A movie room with separate external entrance is located below the main level & is furnished with comfortable couches, arm chairs & a plasma screen. There is a DVD library, but do also bring your favourites. This is the ideal spot to relax on those balmy summer days.
One of the ultimate spaces to enjoy at THE LOFT is the boat shed at the waters edge, fitted out with sun lounge, day bed & dining table. . From here it is just a few steps to a private jetty & pontoon, perfect for berthing your own boat or a hire boat....a tidal sandy beach is perfect for launching the single seater kayak...........so come & enjoy this delightful river holiday house

RESTAURANTS & CAFES
Peats Bite weekends only, advance bookings essential, 02 9985 9040 - closed July/Aug. A great place for a long relaxed lunch, in one of the most beautiful & unique locations on the river. $110.00pp ( licensed ) You will need to advance book in your boat transfers with the restaurant at the time of booking your table. You can also travel there by hireboat or own boat
Spencer Village Store & Cafe serving legendary breakfasts, brunch & light lunch. Truly the 'Hub of the Universe'. Also supplying a good range of meat, some vegetables & just about everything else you may need. Licensed Bottle Shop as well. Kitchen closes around 2.30pm Phone 4377 1123. About 10km upriver by boat.
Cottage Point is perfect when staying mid week, book on 9456 1008. A stunning setting & excellent á la carte menu, Travel by own boat is fine, but too far by hire boat

Travel Approx. 15 km by Boat . Not suited to travel by self drive runabout. Check with restaurant regarding parking own boat at jetty.
Book your water taxi transfers on 0400 600 111 at time of booking your table. Imperative to make sure the table booking & water taxi can coincide. Allow 3 hrs for 6 course; 2.5hrs for 4/5courses. Be sure to inform restaurant of the water taxi pick up time, so that taxi can run to schedule. Taxi approx. $80 each way.
TRANSPORT
Just a reminder that ‘THE LOFT’ is boat access only. There are absolutely no roads to the property, which does make getting there part of the adventure!
From SYDNEY travel north along the Pacific Highway # 1 & F3 FREEWAY, crossing the Hawkesbury River & immediately take the Brooklyn exit. Come back over the river a second time, on the PACIFIC HIGHWAY #83 & turn directly left in to KANGAROO POINT for your water taxi pick up. Allow an hour by car from Sydney, and in peak periods add 30 minutes.
Water Taxi $70.00 each way , up to 4 guests, phone 0400 600 111, advance bookings essential, best to also pre book return trip in advance , pick up at KANGAROO POINT, see notes above. Unload belongings at the wharf, and then park your car. Additional parking is also availabe on the top level, with stairs for easy access to the wharf.
Hire of Self Drive Runabout suitable. Private pontoon at THE LOFT . Book a return taxi transfer & 48 hour hireboat package for $270.00 inclusive fuel. Your boat will be at the THE LOFT jetty waiting and you will travel upriver in comfort in the water taxi with your belongings . Additional hire at $85.00 per 24hours. Bookings well in advance essential as only limited number of hire boats available, phone 0400 600 111 to reserve
Own Boat up to 20' suitable. Private pontoon. We recommend Dolphin Marina, 1 Brooklyn Rd for launching trailer boats. A small fee applies. Call on 02 99857307. Some guests enjoy the longer & very scenic boat journey from Apple Tree Bay or Akuna Bay in Cowan Creek.
