SERENITY offers an abundance of options to take in the water views & nearby sandstone escarpments. This two bedroom cottage is a charming  river retreat , offering a great space to unwind.

The easterly aspect captures the morning light and a combustion wood fire is in place to warm the soul when the chill sets in. Serenity's kitchen faces the river and adjoins the open plan living space. A built in drinks cabinet includes standard glassware as well as martini glasses and shaker (BYO olives). Bi-fold doors link the interior with the outdoor  balcony. A built in bay window is fitted with a day bed, piled with cushions, perfect for reading or afternoon siestas. Serenity is just a short bush track walk from a beautiful spring-fed waterhole at the edge of Popran National Park.  With two private jetties, Serenity is ideal for own boat or hire boat packages

• take a walk to the nearby waterhole. Short , but rugged walk, approximately 1km. Wear shoes with grip

• prebook a self drive hire boat, no license required ( they travel very slowly ) & explore the nearby river beaches, Bar Island & Spencer.

Hire of Self Drive Runabout  suitable. Private pontoon at SERENITY . Book a return taxi transfer & 48 hour hireboat package for $270.00 inclusive fuel. Your boat will be at the SERENITY jetty waiting and you will travel upriver in comfort with your belongings. Additional  hire at $85.00 per 24hours. Own Boat up to 20' suitable. Private pontoon. We recommend Dolphin Marina, 1 Brooklyn Rd for launching trailer boats. A small fee applies. Call on  02 99857307. Some guests enjoy the longer & very scenic boat journey from Apple Tree Bay or Akuna Bay in Cowan Creek.

Peats Bite  weekends only, advance bookings essential,  02 9985 9040 - closed July/Aug. A great place for a long relaxed lunch,  in one of the most beautiful & unique locations on the river. $110.00pp ( licensed ) You will need to advance book in your boat transfers directly with Peats Bite, a small charge applies.  You can also travel there by hireboat or own boat. Let the restaurant know at time of booking.

Spencer Village Store & Cafe serving legendary breakfasts, ( we love the spanish omelette ), burgers & light lunch snacks. Truly the 'Hub of the Universe'. Also supplying a good range of meat, some vegetables & just about everything else you may need. Licensed Bottle Shop as well. Kitchen closes around 2.30pm. Phone 4377 1123

Cottage Point is perfect when staying mid week, book on 9456 1008.  A stunning setting & excellent á la carte menu. Approx 25km. Travel by own boat fine,  but  too far by hire boat

Book your water taxi transfers on 0400 600 111 at time of booking your table. Imperative to make sure the table booking & water taxi can coincide. Allow 3 hrs for 6 course; 2.5hrs for 4/5courses. Be sure to inform restaurant of the water taxi pick up time, so that taxi can run to schedule.  Taxi approx. $80 each way.
